Corporate Social Responsibility is one of our core values.

Some of the ways in which we contribute to the community include:

1. Supporting Charitable Organisations and Pro Bono Legal Services

Goldrick Farrell Mullan undertakes numerous activities every year in support of a range of charities.

Goldrick Farrell Mullan provides pro bono Will drafting for persons making bequests to registered charities.

We are currently part of the bequest enhancement programs of many non-profit organizations.

Our firm is registered with the Law Society of New South Wales as a law firm that will provide pro bono legal services. The Law Society encourages its members to undertake pro bono legal services as part of their wider community responsibility as legal practitioners.

Pro bono legal services are those, which involve the exercise of professional legal skills and are provided on a free or substantially reduced fee basis. These services are provided where legal aid is not available for:

  • people who can demonstrate a need for legal assistance but cannot afford the full cost of a lawyer’s services at the market rate without financial hardship;

  • non-profit organisations which work on behalf of members of the community who are disadvantaged or marginalised, or which work for the public good;

  • public interest matters,

  • being matters of broad community concern, which might not otherwise be pursued; and the improvement of the law or legal system in a manner which benefits marginalised or disadvantaged individuals or groups.

2. Professional Support for Not-For-Profit Organisation

Goldrick Farrell Mullan supports many service providers in this vital sector of our community. Our lawyers sit on the Board of several organisations involved in medical research and job placement for people with disabilities.

Our legal clerks and solicitors are encouraged to make a commitment to serving on a range of community and pro bono legal centres. We offer part-time employment to legal clerks to allow them to contribute time to these organisations.

3. Supporting the Business Community

Goldrick Farrell Mullan provides a comprehensive range of educational and professional development services for clients and the local business community. We run a series of seminars and briefings in association with local banks, insurance companies and community groups to inform and educate businesses and individuals with regard to their legal obligations and responsibilities.

4. Environmental Responsibility

Goldrick Farrell Mullan is a leading law firm in adopting the latest technology and work practices to reduce our environmental footprint.

5. Job Creation and Work/Life Balance

Over the last 25 years Goldrick Farrell Mullan has provided employment and training to hundreds of legal clerks and paralegals embarking on their legal careers. We believe the best legal training is not to be found in full-time study without any practical legal experience. We encourage new law undergraduates to seek part-time legal work early in their University degrees and we give them meaningful legal work that assists in their professional development.

We also offer a variety of work experience opportunities to Sydney High School students.

 After taking  Parental Leave many of our staff have been provided with home office facilities to allow them to work part-time from home as part of a transitional return to full-time duties in the office. Some staff find the home office a permanent solution and undertake remote digital transcription typing from home.
