A Notary Public, Public Notary or Notary are all descriptions of a public officer, usually a practising solicitor or attorney, who is appointed for life by a State Supreme Court and given statutory powers to:
Witness Signatures to international documents, such as Powers of Attorney, Affidavits, Deeds, Agreements and all other commercial and private documents required for use overseas.
Certify Documents including original ASIC, business, personal or educational documents required for use in overseas countries.
Draft Notarial Certificates attaching multiple copied documents thereto to diminish the cost of notarising copied documents individually.
Obtain Apostille Certificates from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) certifying the seals and signatures of Notaries.
Arrange Legalisation or Authentication of original Australian public documents at foreign Embassies or Consulates in Australia, for countries not members of the Hague Convention.
